If a sacrament is an outward act or event by which an inward grace is communicated to the soul, there are innumerable sacraments; for God, by a vast multitude of outward, visible influences, is ever manifesting his truth and his love to our hearts and lives.
A stone upon my hand contains a treasury of secrets.
Raindrops splashing on my cheek will ever bring surprise.
Trees swaying in the wind express the mystery of life.
Through our own recovered innocence we discern the innocence of our neighbors.
In creating, the only hard thing’s to begin;
A grass-blade’s no easier to make than an oak.

How beauteous are the sunset-banners waving
Their golden-penciled folds along the sky,
While liquid pearls the folded flowers are laving,
And the bright lamps of love are lit on high.
Not only by the researches of science are we shown the glories of creation, but the scenes of beauty which daily greet our eyes, the song of birds, fragrance of flowers, the moonlight shining on the waves all tell the same story of divine love.
Nothing puzzles me more than time and space; yet nothing troubles me less. –
This is the wonder of time; this is the marvel of space; out of the stars swung the earth; life upon earth rose to love. This is the marvel of life, rising to see and be known. Out of your heart, cry wonder: sing that we live
There is nothing common, nothing trifling, nothing un-wonderful in this universe!
