In creating, the only hard thing’s to begin;
A grass-blade’s no easier to make than an oak.
But however these two great principles of life – gratitude for the present and trust for the future, and the reformer’s impatience at existing ills and haste to meet them, — however these two great principles may at times clash in the interpretation of human history, in the conduct of the single life they need strike no discord.
